The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is one of the largest collections of international contemporary art which now forms part of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in New York. The Peggy Guggenheim foundation is housed in the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, XVIIIth century palace overlooking the Grand Canal, in what was once the private home of the American art collector Peggy Guggenheim. The museum was opened in 1980 and is mainly composed of works of art owned by the collector, but also masterpieces of temporary exhibitions and collections, there are works by the greatest artists of the twentieth century the likes of Pollock, Ernst, De Chirico , Chagall, Picasso, Dali, Magritte, Miro.
Opening hours:
The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is open daily from 10 am to 18:00 except Tuesdays and Christmas Day.

Students under 26 years: 7.00 Euro (over the school with a valid student card)

How to reach Peggy Guggenheim Museum from Hotel
Piazzale Rome is easily reachable in 15 minutes, thanks to Hotel transfer service (available on a scheduled basis and on request), or any public transport. The bus stop is only 200 m. and from the ticket (available at reception) is Eur 1.10.
Once in Piazzale Roma (or Tronchetto), Peggy Guggenheim Museum can be reached by vaporetto line 1 (stop SALUTE). At the reception of the Hotel you can buy subscriptions that include service bus + boat only Eur 18.00 (valid for 24 hours).
