NEWS: TOURIST TAX VENICE AND THE PROVINCE
From 24 August 2011

Starting from the upcoming August 24th the Municipality of Venice has decided to introduce a Tourist Tax valid throughout the territory of the Municipality (Island, Lido and the mainland, including the city of Mestre and Tessera): the Tourist Tax is to be paid directly to Hotels by the number of nights of stay and the number of people sharing the room. For the area of Tessera, where Titian Inn*** Hotel is located, the rate will be a 40% off than Venice downtown: then the maximum amount for the 3 stars Hotels will be Euro 1.80 per person/night during high season, further reduction of 50% is expected in Low Season (€ 0.90 then). In addition, a 50% off will be applied for children between the ages of 10 and 16 y.o., while the tax will not apply to children under the age of 10 years.

The revenue provisions of the Decree must be "intended to finance interventions in the tourism sector, including those in support of facilities, and maintenance, use and recovery of cultural heritage and local environment, as well as its local public services".

As part of this project the City of Venice thanks gratefully the visitors of this unique city in the world electing them as sponsors following the slogan: "Thank you for being sponsor of the splendor of Venezia!".
